Organizational Context

-          Health staff in the camp/s are proficient at collecting, collating, submitting and interpretation of data and reports are timely and accurate.

-          Appropriate liaison is established with MoH and other parties in relation to the urban refugee health information System.

Functional Statement

Accountability (key results that will be achieved)

- Assist in proper coordination with officials of relevant institutions involved in implementation of health information system.
- Train staff in and out the camps and provide on-site supervision in the health information system through regular monitoring visits.
- Collate weekly reports online and ensure adequate and timely feedback is provided to all partners.
- Address problems with HIS data collection and submission in a timely manner.
- Prepare and provide collated health data for submission in donor reports and health unit fact sheets as well as other documents.
- Draft correspondence, reports and statistics as required.
- Conduct regular monitoring visits to implementing partners (pharmacy management)

- Take action to ensure quality health information system reports that contribute to the quality of primary, secondary and tertiary health care services for refugees.

Essential Minimum Qualifications and Professional Experience
- Completion of Secondary education with certificate/training in Public Health, Nursing or related fields.
- Educational background in medical field preferably in Nursing or Doctor of Medicine. 
- Minimum 6 years of previous job experience relevant to the functions.
- Excellent knowledge of English and Arabic

Operational Context
Under the overall guidance of the Public Health Officer, the Public Health Associate will support implementing and operational partner agencies health activities in Azraq camp. H/She plays a key role in planning, organizing, implementing, monitoring and evaluation UNHCR's public health programs for Syrian refugees inside the camp. The public health associate support the introduction of the health information system in the camp setting and ensure feedback relating to key public health data is provided to health partners, relevant UN agencies, Ministry of Health at local level; develop project activities to address identified needs
